Power Rankings: The best teams in Europe - Week 29 | OneFootball

For many football fans across Europe, there's just one more weekend of the 2023/24 season left.

Depending on how you're team has been doing that's either a good thing or a bad thing.

Below are the 10 best football teams in Europe right now and, by proxy, the ten fanbases that don't want the current campaign to end...

10. Juventus (re-entry)

Having barely ran the length of themselves in the last six months, Juventus' players actually tried on Wednesday evening and ended up winning a Coppa Italia trophy thanks to their efforts. La Vecchia Signora have generally been bloody awful in 2024, but were actually very good in the final against Atalanta, relying on defensive might and a Dusan Vlahovic goal to earn them their 15th Coppa Italia triumph.

9. Galatasaray (up 1)

Another week and yet another win for Galatasaray. Their 3-2 win over Fatih Karagumuruk - earned thanks to a 90th minute goal from Berkan Kutlu - takes their Super Lig record for the season to: Played: 36Won: 32Drawn: 3Lost: 1Goal Difference: +65Points: 99

8. Borussia Dortmund (down 4)

Down four this week thanks to their rather abysmal 3-0 defeat at the hands of relegation-threatened Mainz. Honestly, had they not been UEFA Champions League finalists we probably would've dumped Dortmund out of the rankings altogether.

7. Sporting CP (-)

Sporting CP's Liga Portugal title-winning parade began in earnest over the weekend with their 28th league victory of the season. Their victory over Estoril Praia means that Ruben Amorim's side have now gone 19 games without a league defeat. That's quite impressive.

Bologna will be playing UEFA Champions League football next season. Yep, you read that right:Bologna will be playing UEFA Champions League football next season. Thiago Motta's side have enjoyed an utterly remarkable 2023/24 Serie A campaign, and secured their place in next Europe's top competition for the first time since 1964 thanks to their win over SSC Napoli at the weekend.

Aston Villa will be playing UEFA Champions League football next season. Yep, you read that right:Aston Villa will be playing UEFA Champions League football next season. Thanks to their dramatic 3-3 draw with Liverpool and Tottenham's defeat to Man City, Villa booked their place in Europe's elite competition for the first time since 1983.

4. Bayer Leverkusen (-)

It's mid-May and Bayer Leverkusen are still unbeaten in all competitions. Xabi Alonso's made it 50 games without defeat in thoroughly impressive fashion on Sunday too, thumping VfL Bochum 5-0 thanks to goals from Patrik Schick, Victor Boniface, Amine Adli, Josip Stanisic and Alex Grimaldo.

3. Arsenal (down 1)

Say what you want about Arsenal, but you'd deny that they've done everything they can to win the Premier League this season. The Gunners' 1-0 triumph over Man Utd was their fifth on the bounce at the tail-end of the campaign, which is pretty damn good form if you ask us.

2. Manchester City (up 3)

The issues for Arsenal is, while they keep winning, Manchester City do too. The Premier League holders showed off their title credentials this past week by winning a crucial game-in-hand against Tottenham Hotspur thanks to goals from Erling Haaland. It's a win that has seen them, perhaps decisively, leapfrog Arsenal in the league table ahead of the final weekend of the season.

You'd have thought that Real Madrid would've taken their foot off the gas a bit after securing this season's La Liga title and their place in the UEFA Champions League final, wouldn't you? Well, they haven't.Instead, they've won their last two games by an accumulated score of 9-0. They're a ridiculous football team.
