Potential suitors yet to emerge for Lille’s Edon Zhegrova despite being sidelined for pre-season | OneFootball

As Lille’s 29-man squad travelled to Dortmund on Monday to continue preparations for the 2025/26 season, Edon Zhegrova (26) was again absent – as were fellow outcasts Mohamed Bayo, Tiago Morais, and Rafael Fernandes. All four have been kept away from Paulo Fonseca’s first-team group since the start of pre-season.

Zhegrova has not featured for Les Dogues since December in a 1-1 draw against Marseille. A key turning point in his relationship with the club reportedly came in January when he refused to extend his contract, which is set to expire in June 2026. A muscle injury followed soon after, sidelining him for the remainder of the season.

While it remains unclear whether the winger was fully fit to return for the run-in as Lille secured a fourth-place finish in Ligue 1, club president Olivier Létang appears to have moved on without him.
