There is a player at Chelsea’s training ground in Cobham today taking his medical tests to join the club ahead of a move being confirmed very soon now.

The Blues have been making a number of new signings this summer transfer window, and it looks like they are not close to being done yet either, with more arrivals and departures expected to be on the cards this window.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea’s full transfer plans for the rest of this summer REVEALED! 👀

They have seemingly been looking to add a player who can play in a few of the defensive positions on the pitch, and it looks like that is what they are going to be getting with one of the pending new arrivals who is just a medical and official announcement away from joining Chelsea now. That is at least according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who posted his latest update on his account X late morning today.

Veiga at Chelsea for a medical

As you can see above, Romano confirms Renato Veiga starts his medical today at Chelsea with a move set to be sealed this week.

The fee will be €14m to his current club Basel, with a contract until June 2032 will be signed right after. Romano’s latest exclusive story will be confirmed very soon.

Veiga is a player that not many Chelsea fans can claim that they even watched play before they heard of this story on Friday. He’s a player who some Chelsea fans will find underwhelming for the club to be signing. But he’s a player that fans should probably just give a chance if they have never watched him play football before.

I’ve never see him play, so I can’t give a judgement on the player or the deal either way. So I will just have to wait and see whether it’s a good signing or not!
