Manchester United will imminently sign Bryan Mbeumo, but their transfer campaign is far from over, insists Fabrizio Romano.
As reported earlier in the day, United have finally found an agreement with Brentford on a £65 million plus £6 million deal for the 25-year-old winger. Therefore, the Cameroonian is set to become United’s second major signing of the summer after Matheus Cunha.
Mbeumo is thus expected to link up with the Brazilian in the two attacking-midfield spots in Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 tactical system, playing behind the striker.
So the question that poses itself is, who exactly will this striker be?

After all, Rasmus Hojlund failed to produce the goods last season, only scoring four goals in the Premier League throughout the campaign, and the same goes for Joshua Zirkzee, albeit the latter is not a conventional centre-forward.
According to Romano, the man who will spearhead the attacking trident will be yet another new signing.
The Italian journalist revealed on his official X account that Man Utd are keen to sign a new striker in the coming weeks.
Nevertheless, the transfer market expert notes that the arrival of a new bomber will also depend on the exits. Man United are expected to part ways with five players who are deemed surplus to requirements in Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia.
These outgoings will be vital for INEOS to raise funds in order to launch an onslaught for a reputable No.9. After all, United have already spent circa £130 million, and they cannot count on Champions League money next season, which makes their sales even more instrumental.
Man Utd have been linked with several strikers in recent months. However, they have already missed out on Liam Delap, and they’re unlikely to sign Viktor Gyokeres, Victor Osimhen or Hugo Ekitike.
On the other hand, they remain in the mix for Benjamin Sesko, while Dusan Vlahovic and Ollie Watkins represent alternative profiles.
