It just didn’t feel right.
Yes, I know it was for the greater good but…
Anyway, we are back to normality.
Once again, desperate to see Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Arsenal getting hammered.
Last night’s 3-0 win for Arsenal over Real Madrid meant that the fifth Champions League place was confirmed (see below), now up for grabs to Newcastle United and whoever else. The extra place due to how English clubs have performed in Europe so far this season.
So the gloves are off and I can rest easy, once again desperately hoping all other English clubs to get annihilated in Europe.
Why would anybody want them to do well otherwise??? That is, unless it was to help get that bonus Champions League place for next season.
After all, if other Premier League clubs do well in Europe, they only get richer and more powerful, making it far more difficult for Newcastle United to compete with them.
Plus of course, there is the usual fan hatred for other clubs that we all love so much!
So here’s hoping Real Madrid hammer Arsenal by at least four goals in the second leg.
Let’s celebrate when Villa get taken apart by PSG tonight.
The same when Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United are playing on Thursday.
‘England are guaranteed a minimum of five teams in the Champions League next season after Arsenal’s victory over Real Madrid in the first leg of the quarter-finals.
One win, in any of the three European competitions, would have secured the fifth place for England.
Two extra spots are awarded to countries based on their ranking in Uefa’s coefficient table.
Liverpool and Arsenal look set to finish in the top in the Premier League, with Nottingham Forest, Chelsea, Newcastle, Manchester City, Aston Villa, Brighton and Bournemouth, who sit 10th, all separated by 12 points.
