The 53-year-old joined City in 2016 and has enjoyed unparalleled success in English football, winning 18 major trophies, including six Premier League titles.

His impact on the club has been transformative, elevating City to one of Europe’s elite teams.

He has won 353 of the 490 matches he has overseen in all competitions. City have scored 1,200 goals during that period, averaging 2.45 goals per game.

“Manchester City means so much to me,” Guardiola said (via ManCity.com). “I have a really special feeling for this football club. That is why I am so happy to be staying for another two more seasons.”

Guardiola’s extension is a massive boost for the club. They have endured a recent dip in form, losing their last four matches across all competitions.

The club will hope that the manager’s continued presence can inspire a return to winning ways, starting with their clash against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

Despite all the talk about their poor form, they are only five points away from Liverpool at the summit, and Guardiola’s side can close that gap with one of their blitzkrieg-winning runs.

They can still qualify for the Champions League knockout phase automatically, and Guardiola will be eyeing another successful season

City undoubtedly emain a force to be reckoned with in both domestic and European competitions with Guardiola in charge.
