Pep Guardiola is expected to leave Manchester City next summer after nine years at the helm.

According to the Daily Mail’s Jack Gaughan, the Catalan will call time on his spell at the Etihad Stadium when his current deal expires.

The Premier League champions are understood to be planning to give Guardiola space to make a final decision on his immediate future.

Publicly, City insist there has been no indication that the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach has formally relayed his plans to quit.

But there are fears that Guardiola will bring the curtain down on a success-laden era that saw a fourth title in succession claimed this season.

Among his potential successors are Míchel, whose Girona side are part of the City Football Group, and Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso, who worked under Guardiola at Bayern, and ex-Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi are also names touted by the Mail.
