Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed his plans for the 2024/25 season amid a series of managerial departures.

The 53-year-old could become the first manager to win four consecutive Premier League titles this weekend, with Manchester City requiring a victory over West Ham United on Sunday at the Etihad Stadium to secure a sixth title in seven years.

The Sky Blues are unbeaten across all competitions since early December and are the only club to be unbeaten at home in the Premier League so far this term.

Manchester City haven’t lost to West Ham since September 2015, and also won the Premier League title on the final day against the Hammers in 2014, after goals from Samir Nasri and Vincent Kompany secured a second title under the management of Manuel Pellegrini.

Pep Guardiola is bidding to win a sixth Premier League title this weekend, with the Catalan having won 16 trophies as manager at the Etihad Stadium to date, including both the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup already this season.

The Blues could retain both the Premier League and Emirates FA Cup this month, with Manchester City facing local rivals Manchester United at Wembley Stadium next weekend, in a repeat of last season’s FA Cup Final.

The conclusion of the campaign could mark the end of Guardiola’s penultimate season in east Manchester, with the 53-year-old currently contracted at the club until 2025.

Guardiola has penned three contract extensions since arriving from Bayern Munich in 2016, but it remains unknown whether the Catalonian will further extend his future beyond the end of next season.

The 2024/25 campaign will mark the start of the manager’s ninth season with Manchester City, and comes amid a string of major management changes across Europe, with Jurgen Klopp most notably leaving Liverpool.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s Premier League finale against West Ham, Guardiola reaffirmed his plans to remain as Manchester City boss next season.

“Yeah, I have a contract. I want to be here next season, yes or yes,” said the 53-year-old.

Sunday’s fixture will coincidentally also mark the end of David Moyes’ tenure at the London Stadium, with the West Ham manager leaving the east London club at the end of the current campaign and being replaced by Julen Lopetegui.
