Lorenzo Pellegrini is hoping to accelerate his recovery ahead of the new season.
The Roma captain is trying to reduce his recovery time from the season-ending injury and is aiming to return to the field in about 100 days, instead of the four months initially planned.
Doctor Lempainen, who operated on him and followed his case, defined the goal as ambitious but possible.
In recent days, writes Il Corriere dello Sport, Pellegrini has already abandoned his crutches and has begun the second phase of the rehabilitation protocol: now he will work in the pool and start running on the sand.
If there are no complications, he will soon be able to return to training on the field with Gian Piero Gasperini ready to evaluate him.
