Rashford has arrived in Catalonia and is expected to undergo a medical on Monday to put the final touches on a season-long loan deal, which will include an option for Barcelona to buy permanently next summer.

Reports in Spain suggest that Rashford will be officially presented as a Barcelona player on Wednesday, before flying out with his new team-mates on Thursday for a pre-season tour to Asia.

Ruben Amorim made it clear that Rashford, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, was not part of his plans at Old Trafford.

That became even more obvious when Matheus Cunha arrived at United earlier this summer and was given the No10 shirt previously worn by Rashford.

Pogba spent six seasons as a United player alongside Rashford and he admitted the current situation has come as a surprise to him.

“That's crazy, but I'm happy for him because they [United] took his number,” Pogba told streamer IShowSpeed.

“Manchester United are losing a great player. Unlucky for them.

“It's great for Barcelona to be honest. I'm not even talking about United, because they've bought a few new players and the new manager wants to do his thing I guess.

“It's not really his [Amorim's] fault. If he doesn't believe in someone. He needs to win. If he doesn't win they're going to sack him.”
