Paris Saint-Germain eyeing Marcus Rashford deal | OneFootball

Paris Saint-Germain are refusing to back down from their pursuit of Marcus Rashford despite the Manchester United star’s turbulent start to the season.

Having been one of Man United’s standout players during Erik ten Hag’s first season as manager, Rashford’s form plummeted during the last campaign.

While the start of the current season seemed to provide much of the same, the England international’s performances have notably picked up in recent weeks as he scored against Southampton before grabbing a brace and an assist against Barnsley in the Carabao Cup and then scoring and providing an assist at FC Porto in the Europa League. As Rashford gradually returns to his former self, reigning Ligue 1 champions PSG once again have him on their radar.

TEAMtalk reported that sources have claimed that PSG are once again considering a move for Rashford.

“Paris Saint-Germain have renewed their interest in Manchester United star Marcus Rashford but the hurdles that blocked a summer transfer for the winger still remain in place,” the report read.

“Despite United’s reluctance to sell the 26-year-old, who signed a contract until 2028 with the Old Trafford side last year, TEAMtalk sources understand that the Ligue 1 team are still considering swooping for Rashford next year,” the article continued. “PSG, who held talks with the England ace this year but didn’t reach an agreement, are keen to strengthen their attack in 2025. Therefore, it cannot be ruled out that the French giants go back to talking to the player to evaluate the possibility of a transfer.”

Earlier this year, it was reported that PSG were set to launch a massive bid for Rashford this past summer, although this never transpired.

Still, this made little difference, as The Peoples Person relayed reports claiming that Rashford was not interested in departing United regardless of the terms of a potential offer.

Despite Rashford’s alleged lack of interest, the Parisian giants were in no mood to back down as they reportedly inquired about Rashford’s availability while they were still negotiating with United for Jadon Sancho before his loan to Chelsea was sealed.

Despite reports that United are believed to be looking for over £70 million in order to be willing to let Rashford go, it might prove challenging to part ways with the winger as this would greatly narrow the team’s squad depth.

As a result, United’s ability to sign a replacement such as Eberechi Eze could be a decisive factor in PSG’s chances of signing Rashford.
