Roma midfielder Leandro Paredes will sign for Boca Juniors on Monday, and his hint wasn’t subtle, showing off a birthday cake with the club symbol.
Multiple sources had already confirmed the decision was made and that Boca Juniors would pay the €3.5m release clause in his contract.
The date for that activation is June 30, just in time for Roma to pocket that much-needed sum to help balance the books and avoid Financial Fair Play penalties.

Paredes turned 31 today and showed off images from his birthday party on Instagram, including a rather difficult to ignore cake.

This will be a return to his home club, where he started his career in their youth academy before moving to Italy for Chievo in 2014.
That was followed by experiences at Roma, Empoli, Zenit St. Petersburg, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and then back to Roma in 2023.
