Paige Spiranac is one of the most popular sports influencers on the planet and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian has praised the golf star for the brand she's created.
Spiranac, who stopped pursuing professional golf in pursuit of growing her profile online, now boasts more Instagram followers than the great Tiger Woods.
While the renowned social media star has often been criticised for "sexualising women's golf" she has used her platform to promote body positivity and an anti-bullying campaign.
And Spiranac's influence has not gone unnoticed by Ohanian, who described the golfer as the "real deal."
After recently becoming interested in the sport of golf, Ohanian, who is married to tennis legend Serena Williams, tweeted about his recent interaction with Spiranac.
"Just had a call with Paige Spiranac - she's the real deal," he said. "Every brand trying to understand how to tell a story to the *next* generation of golf fans should be paying attention."
Spiranac saw the kind words from Ohanian and responded to his tweet by saying: "Thank you for the kind words and allowing me the space to speak so passionately about the game I love so much."
Ohanian's interest in golf appeared to start last month when he shared a video of Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas.
"Any golfer follow me on Twitter? I've still never played a single round of golf in my life but this looks fun," he stated.
Ohanian is an American internet entrepreneur and investor, who co-founded Reddit alongside Steve Huffman and Aaron Swartz.
In 2016, he became engaged to Williams and their daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian, was born on September 1st, 2017.
Ohanian has previously stated that watching his wife compete has changed how he measures success in business.
Spiranac's success has inspired other social media stars, including Rachel Stuhlmann –– tennis' 'number one' influencer.
Stuhlmann has stressed that she hopes to achieve the same level of success as Spiranac, stating: "Paige does her thing with golf and she’s a great person to seek inspiration from, but there’s nothing like it in tennis."
While she has some way to go to catch up Spiranac in terms of Instagram followers, she still has more than 250,000 as of now.
