‘Over the top’ – Real Madrid teammate jumps to defence of Kylian Mbappé | OneFootball

Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has this week moved to publicly back teammate Kylian Mbappé.

This of course comes as the latter continues to be singled out for regular criticism for the level of his performances in the colours of Los Blancos.

Real Madrid are primed to return to action later this evening, when they make the daunting trip to Anfield, for a Champions League showdown with Liverpool.

Frontman Mbappé, for his part, is in line to play a leading role, expected to shoulder the burden in the attacking third in the absence of the sidelined Vinícius Jr.

Speaking to the media during the pre-match press conference, the name of his under-fire teammate was, in turn, put to the aforementioned Jude Bellingham.

And, in his response, the England international made use of the opportunity to defend Mbappé, adamant that:

“I think the criticism for Kylian is over the top. Also, I see him in training every day and he’s only going to get better.”
