Throughout his brilliant Manchester City career, Yaya Touré made a habit of scoring big goals in the biggest moments.

The first of these came on this day in 2011 when he ended a 30-year wait for the Blues at Wembley against their fiercest rivals.

At the time, Manchester United were still the top dogs in both the city and in the country, and Sir Alex Ferguson's men were chasing a second treble when they met in an FA Cup semi-final that saw red and blue descend on the capital.

A tight game was decided in the 52nd minute when Michael Carrick uncharacteristically lost the ball near his own box, allowing Touré to rampage through, slot past Edwin van der Sar, and spark wild celebrations in the City end.

Roberto Mancini's side would hold out to make a first FA Cup final in three decades, where the Ivorian would again score the only goal of the game, and end an even longer wait for a trophy.

The rest, as they say, is history as a supercharged City began their domination of English football.
