Orlando City SC is now assembling their next competitive team. They’ve just confirmed the 2025 MLS schedule when that team takes the pitch.

With the new 2025 MLS schedule, Orlando City SC will not play more than two matches in a row at home. Yet in their 11th MLS season, the Lions get to play half of their 34 games at home.

While they don’t get more than two consecutive home matches, the first of those back-to-back games in Inter&Co Stadium are the regular season openers.

These openers scarcely allow supporters to catch their breath after the holidays. The first match at home hosts the Philadelphia Union on Saturday, Feb. 22. Then the Lions meet Toronto FC on Saturday, March 1.

Both these opponents barely missed the playoff line in the MLS Eastern Conference. Toronto and Philadelphia finished the 2024 season 11th and 13th respectively. But these matches are set for 2025, not 2024.

Those two opponents are huddled day and night putting together their 2025 squads, just as any other MLS organization. They’ll be bringing players expected to get them up three or more notches so they have a post-season chance, just as Orlando City has the past half-decade.

MLS Rivalry Week this season is set across two matchdays. This year Orlando heads to Chase Field to play intrastate rival Inter Miami CF on May 18. Then they host the Herons on Aug. 10.

The Lions then play Atlanta United at home on April 26, and away on May 28.

But the first away game is Mar. 8 at New York City FC. The team takes on MLS Champion LA Galaxy Mar. 29.

Orlando City SC now knows which teams they face. They continue to work through the challenges of players leaving and players injured. The result will be the most competitive team possible through training and scouting.
