Opta predicted final 2024/25 Premier League table – Reassessed after Newcastle defeat Ipswich

What do you predict with the final 2024/25 Premier League table?
Exactly four weeks of the season still left to go.
In 28 days time Newcastle United will conclude their season with a home game against Everton on Sunday 25 May with a 4pm kick-off.
This weekend a little different, as three of the five clubs competing to join Liverpool and Arsenal in the Champions League next season, were instead in FA Cup semi-final action.
The two matches that were played on Saturday, involving teams currently between third and seventh, saw Chelsea climb to fourth in the Premier League table after they struggled to a narrow 1-0 home win over Everton.
That 12.30pm kick-off was followed at 3pm by a match at St James’ Park, which ended Newcastle 3 Ipswich 0.
So this is how the Premier League table now currently (morning of Sunday 27 April 2025) looks after Saturday’s results:
As you can see, it is now five points now separating Newcastle United in third down to Aston Villa in seventh, although Forest do have a game in hand on the other four.
When it comes to predicting what that final Premier League table will look like after the 38th round of fixtures in May 2025, Opta have done some updated analysis after Saturday’s matches, reassessing how things are forecasted to turn out.
Using their latest data simulations, Opta analysis has shown this as the most likely 2024/25 Premier League table come the end of the season – Predicted final table as at 27 April 2025:
As you can see, Man City now forecast to end up third on 69 points, just ahead of both Newcastle and Forest on 68 points.
Villa and Chelsea the ones forecast to miss out on Champions League football.
Chelsea predicted to end up sixth on 65 points.
Whilst after losing to Man City in midweek, Villa forecast to be seventh on 63 points, five points behind Newcastle.
Newcastle United now with seven wins in their last eight matches, including six wins from seven in the Premier League.
