What do you predict with the final 2024/25 Premier League table?
Just over five weeks of the season still left to go.
In 37 days time Newcastle United will conclude their season with a home game against Everton on Sunday 25 May with a 4pm kick-off.
Newcastle United have now won six matches (all competitions) in a row.
That includes five Premier League victories on the bounce, the latest that 5-0 thrashing of Palace on Wednesday night at St James’ Park.
This is how the Premier League table now currently (morning of Friday 18 April 2025) looks after that NUFC win over Palace:
When it comes to predicting what that final Premier League table will look like after the 38th round of fixtures in May 2025, Opta have done some updated analysis after Newcastle’s win over Palace, reassessing how things are forecasted to turn out.
Using their latest data simulations, Opta analysis has shown this as the most likely 2024/25 Premier League table come the end of the season – Predicted final table as at 18 April 2025:
As you can see, a massive change now, with United in such a strong position thanks to their ongoing excellent form. Form that has put them third in the current PL table and Opta now seeing Eddie Howe’s side finishing the season so strongly.
Newcastle United now predicted by the Opta model to end the season in third place on 68 points (68.95, so just a minimal amount off predicted to have 69 points), seven points behind Arsenal.
With Man City and Forest predicted to be the other two Champions League qualifiers, both forecast to finish two points behind United.
Villa then forecasted to end up sixth on 63 points, five behind Newcastle United.
Every game is huge at this stage of the season but if United can make it seven wins in a row (six in the league) against Villa on Saturday, they will remain third in the table and all teams only having five PL matches to play.
United’s rivals for Champions League qualifying have some potentially tough away matches as well. Chelsea away at Fulham, Man City at Everton, Forest at Spurs.
