One stat will worry Arsenal about their loss to Tottenham

Arsenal suffered a disappointing defeat at the hands of Tottenham in the first-ever meeting between the two clubs held outside of England. It was far from the outcome the Gunners had hoped for in what was a highly anticipated encounter.

Tottenham have recently appointed a new manager, with Thomas Frank stepping into the role. He replaces Ange Postecoglou, who had previously guided the club to success in the Europa League. The Lilywhites are preparing for a season in the Champions League and are aiming to make a strong impression on the continental stage.

A Competitive Fixture Ends in Disappointment for Arsenal

Despite facing a Tottenham side in transition, Arsenal entered the fixture in confident form after a promising pre-season. Expectations were high, and although the Gunners largely controlled proceedings, they failed to translate that dominance into a positive result.

It was a competitive match throughout, with both sides showing moments of quality. Arsenal maintained the majority of possession and pressed the opposition effectively. However, Tottenham managed to create the more threatening opportunities and ultimately emerged victorious. Notably, the Lilywhites struck the post on three occasions, underlining their danger on the counter.

Although Arsenal may feel aggrieved by the result, their inability to capitalise on clear chances will be a growing concern as the new season approaches. Their attacking inefficiency was stark, and the team will need to address this issue quickly if they are to challenge for honours.

Shot Conversion Remains a Key Concern for the Gunners

As cited by FotMob, Arsenal registered a total of 16 shots during the match, yet managed just one on target. In contrast, Tottenham had only six attempts, but also recorded one on target, showing greater efficiency in front of goal. These statistics highlight a recurring issue for the Gunners that must be resolved.

There is hope that the arrival of Viktor Gyökeres could provide the clinical edge that Arsenal currently lack. His presence up front may help improve the team’s conversion rate and bring more balance to their attacking play. As it stands, the Gunners will need to sharpen their performance in front of goal if they are to make a meaningful impact this season.
