Barcelona star Marc-André ter Stegen has been acting ‘strange’ since the club’s return for pre-season training.

That’s according to Blaugrana insider Javier Miguel of Diario AS, citing sources inside the dressing room in Catalunya’s capital.

Goalkeeper Ter Stegen of course finds himself in something of a peculiar situation at present.

Relegated to third-choice in the shot-stopping department in Hansi Flick’s squad following the arrival of Joan García, the German is understood to be very much available for transfer.

Ter Stegen has to this point not at all opened to such a possibility, adamant regarding his plans to stay put and fight for his place.

Add to this the fact that the 33-year-old has been unable to train across the week to date, owing to an ongoing back problem, and Ter Stegen’s situation looks even more unsettling.

In turn, it may not come as a major surprise to learn that the former Borussia Mönchengladbach standout has not exactly been himself since his return from summer vacation.

As per a report from the aforementioned AS:

“He’s been acting very strange for a few days, complaining about everything,” is what the dressing room explains about Ter Stegen’s attitude since returning from vacation.’
