Exactly 26 years ago today, the FA Cup witnessed one of its most iconic semi-finals, and one of its most iconic goal celebrations.

It felt like something special was guaranteed when fierce rivals Manchester United and Arsenal were drawn together in that year's semi-final, but the first attempt was as forgettable as the second was memorable, as both sides couldn't be separated in a 1-1 draw at Villa Park.

The FA Cup still had replays at the semi-final stage in those days, and three days later the two teams met at Villa Park to do it all over again.

The second act burst into life when David Beckham fired United in front with a stunning long-range strike after 17 minutes, and that was how it stayed until a moment of Dennis Bergkamp brilliance from a similar range levelled it up with 20 minutes remaining.

Bergkamp then had the chance to win it for the Gunners from the penalty spot, only for United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel to deny the Dutchman with a brilliant save.

And it was late into extra-time when we finally got the iconic winning goal.

A tired pass from Patrick Vieira was intercepted by Ryan Giggs inside his own half, and what happened next will forever be enshrined in United's history, as the Welsh wizard dribbled through Arsenal's defence and lashed past David Seaman to win the game.

Come for the goal, stay for the bare-chested celebration.

United went on to beat Newcastle in the FA Cup final that year, before completing an iconic Treble with their even more dramatic comeback against Bayern Munich in the Champions League final.

1999 was undoubtedly their year.
