Azzedine Ounahi isn’t showing much excitement at the prospect of joining Spartak Moscow. Olympique de Marseille has offered the Moroccan player to the Russian club, but he remains reserved about this sporting project.

Despite an impressive loan spell in Greece (25 matches, 5 goals, 4 assists), Olympique de Marseille does not plan to reintegrate Azzedine Ounahi into their squad for next season. Returning on July 1, he’ll find himself back in a team where his playing time remains uncertain, making the search for a project suited to his profile all the more important.

Spartak Moscow, eager to strengthen their midfield, has been given the green light to open talks with the player. The Russian side has reportedly tabled an offer close to €12 million, which Marseille has accepted. Yet the Moroccan international midfielder doesn’t seem particularly keen on the proposal, even though the Russian club is pushing to sign him before the transfer window closes.

According to media reports, Azzedine Ounahi isn’t very enthusiastic about moving to Russia just before the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Choosing Spartak would mean taking on the challenge of standing out in a demanding league, but also distancing himself from the ideal environment to secure a call-up for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.

OM is now waiting for the “green light” from their player, who is prioritizing an ambitious sporting project over a simple change of scenery.
