Oliver Kahn Reacts to Wirtz’s £116M Liverpool Move
German football icon Oliver Kahn's shared his thoughts on Florian Wirtz’s high profile transfer to Liverpool admitting he was initially surprised by the 22 year old's decision.
On 20 Jun Liverpool officially signed Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen on 5 year deal running until Jun 2030. The deal's reportedly worth 116 million sterling pound making it one of the most expensive signings in the club's history.
In interview with Sky, the former Bayern Munich & Germany goalkeeper admitted:
He added that England's Premier League's become the top destination for elite talent just as Serie A was during his playing days in the 1990s & early 2000s.

Kahn now 56 also pointed to the declining international competitiveness of the Bundesliga despite Bayern Munich dominating domestically with 12 title in the last 13 season.
"The Bundesliga still generates excitement with goals and big crowds but international success has been extremely limited over the past 10 year" Kahn noted.
At just 22 Florian Wirtz's widely considered one of Germany’s top young talents and his move to england could mark significant step in his development and sign of shifting power in european football.
