Jesper Lindstrøm’s return to the Bundesliga was confirmed late Wednesday evening. VfL Wolfsburg rather quietly confirmed the former Eintracht Frankfurt attacker’s arrival on the club’s website. One assumes the Danish international will be given a formal roll-out after tomorrow’s training session.

Initial reported on figures on Lindstrøm’s loan deal from SSC Napoli have been amended slightly. Kicker and others confirm the €1m loan fee, yet claim the purchase option may be as low as €10m. The €13m figure can be arrived at via bonuses if the purchase option is activated.

At present, there is no confirmation as to whether the purchase option may be automatically activated. Napoli may be keen to recoup some of the €30m they shelled out for the Dane, who has not scored a goal since he departed German football.

“Jesper has experience in the Bundesliga and at international level,” VfL sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz noted in a club statement. “With him, we are gaining a dynamic and very versatile player who can fill almost any position in midfield. We are delighted that he is already part of our squad and will be working with the team at the training camp.”
