Official: Valencia sign Mallorca star | OneFootball

Valencia have on Monday announced the signing of a member of the defensive ranks at La Liga rivals RCD Mallorca.

The player in question? José Copete.

Defender Copete for his part played an important role for Mallorca this past season, on his way to 25 appearances in Spain’s top-flight.

And along the way, the 25-year-old evidently did enough to impress those behind the scenes at Mestalla.

On the lookout for reinforcements at the back following Cristhian Mosquera’s departure for Arsenal, Valencia, in turn, recently kicked into gear talks over a summer deal for Copete.

And as alluded to above, early this week, these negotiations have officially borne fruit.

As per a statement across Valencia’s website and social media platforms:

‘Valencia CF have reached an agreement with RCD Mallorca for the signing of defender José Copete through to June 30th 2029.’

Copete has since taken to his official ‘X’ account, to send a heartfelt farewell message to Mallorca:
