Monza confirm Alessandro Nesta’s sacking and according to Sky Sport Italia, Salvatore Bocchetti is the main candidate to replace the former Milan defender.
Serie A strugglers Monza have sacked Nesta after a 2-1 loss against Juventus.
The club confirmed Nesta’s sacking with an official statement on Monday afternoon.
“AC Monza announce that Alessandro Nesta has been relieved of his duties as coach of the first team,” the statement reads.
“The club thanks the coach for his efforts and wishes him the best for the future.”

Monza sit at the bottom of the Serie A table with 10 points in 17 matches.
The next two rounds are against direct rivals Parma and Cagliari, so Monza will appoint a new coach to boost the team’s motivation ahead of crucial matches.
Nesta had signed a contract until 2025 at the U-Power Stadium last summer. The deal came with an option to extend for a further campaign if the Brianzoli had earned survival this term.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Monza have already identified a replacement for Nesta: it’s former Verona coach Bocchetti who is reportedly finalising an agreement with the Brianzoli.
Bocchetti joined Marco Zaffaroni on the Verona bench for the second part of 2022-23, helping the Gialloblu avoid relegation to Serie B.
