Hoffenheim have announced that striker Maximilian Beier has extended his contract at the club until 2027, which is a two-year extension on his original deal.

On his extension at Hoffenheim, Beier said: “I feel very comfortable at the TSG, enormously valued and am sure that I can still develop myself significantly in this sport. The TSG and its responsible persons placed their trust in me very early in my career and developed me step by step into a Bundesliga player both in the academy and with the joint decision of a loan to Hannover 96. As this, I would now like to establish myself here and continue to pursue the successful path taken together with the TSG.”

Sporting director Alexander Rosen also commented on the 21-year-old’s extension: “Maxi is currently one of the shooting stars of German football and we are pleased that together with him we were able to make a trend-setting decision for his further sporting career at TSG and extend the contract prematurely for two more years. He has matured from academy player to professional at TSG and thus another prime example of the Hoffenheim way,” Rosen explains and prophesies: “With his incredible willingness, as well as his courageous and extremely refreshing way of playing, he is facing a great future.”

Beier has been one of Hoffenheim’s stand-out players this season. In his first full season in the first team, Beier has played nine times and scored six with one assist. His goalscoring in the Bundesliga has made him the joint top-scoring German in the league, level with Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sané.

The 21-year-old’s early season form resulted in speculation surrounding a call-up to Julian Nagelsmann’s first Germany squad, but the striker was eventually snubbed. However, Beier may be given the chance in the November international break ahead of Kevin Behrens who has failed to continue his early season form.

Hoffenheim’s eventual aim for Beier is still to sell him for at least a double-digit fee and follow a similar path to Christoph Baumgartner, David Raum, Niklas Süle as well as a host of other players Hoffenheim have nurtured before selling on.
