AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has made two changes to the starting line-up that drew with Spurs last midweek for tonight’s game against Salernitana.
It is perhaps unsurprising that Pioli has elected to field the same defensive unit of Mike Maignan in goal with Pierre Kalulu, Malick Thiaw and Fikayo Tomori ahead as the three centre-backs. There were whispers that Simon Kjaer could start, but the Dane instead begins the game from the bench.
The first alteration comes at right wing-back where Alexis Saelemaekers has come in after Junior Messias has picked up an injury in the Tottenham game, with Theo Hernandez on the opposite flank.
The other change is in the midfield pairing where Sandro Tonali gets a rest meaning Ismael Bennacer and Rade Krunic will be partnered up.
In attack Olivier Giroud will lead the line once again and he will be supported by Rafael Leao on the left and Brahim Diaz on the right.
Official Milan XI (3-4-2-1): Maignan; Kalulu, Thiaw, Tomori; Saelemaekers, Bennacer, Krunic, Theo Hernandez; Diaz, Leao; Giroud.
Bench: Tatarusanu, Mirante, Calabria, Florenzi, Kjaer, Ballo-Tourè, Gabbia, Tonali, Vranckx, Adli, Pobega, De Ketelaere, Rebic, Origi, Ibrahimovic.
