Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espírito Santo went through his necessary paces with the media ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Fulham.

As the club remains on the hunt for unexpected qualification for the Champions League, one prevailing question persists regarding contract extensions at the City Ground, particularly surrounding key defender Ola Aina.

The Nigerian international has been instrumental in the club's heroic push in 2024/25, and Espírito Santo remains optimistic of an agreement.

When asked if there could be good news, he said "Yes, I think things are going well. I'm positive and confident that everything is going to be solved."

Espírito Santo also fielded questions on striker Taiwo Awoniyi after he suffered an injury in the FA Cup win over Exeter.

"He broke his nose, so he's in pain," the popular Forest headmaster said. "He's just with the medical department and waiting for the right protocols to be followed. We have to wait and see if he's available, or if he still has a concussion, so we have to be really careful."

Forest have a chance to go level with injury-stricken Arsenal on Saturday while building on their massive 7-0 win over Brighton two weeks ago.
