Nottingham Forest have announced that Nuno Espirito Santo has penned a new contract at the City Ground.

The 51-year-old’s previous deal was set to expire next summer, but he has agreed to fresh terms that will keep him at the club until 2028, per The Athletic.

In a statement on the club website, Nuno said: “I am delighted to be able to continue our journey at this fantastic football club.

“Since we arrived at Forest, we have worked extremely hard to create a special bond between the players, the fans and everyone at the club, which helped us achieve great things last season.”

Nuno led his team to an excellent 2024-25 Premier League season, securing a seventh-place finish to qualify for the Europa Conference League play-off stage.

Forest were the only team that beat champions Liverpool at Anfield. Nuno also guided his side to the FA Cup semi-finals last term, where they lost to Manchester City.

The Portuguese replaced Steve Cooper at Forest in December 2023. They were battling relegation at the time, but Nuno led them to safety.

The Tricky Trees brought in some talented players the following summer but were expected to struggle again. However, they defied expectations to finish in seventh place.

Nuno performed a brilliant job at Wolverhampton Wanderers between 2017 and 2021, but failed to replicate his success when he moved to Tottenham Hotspur.
