According to VoetbalPrimeur and the Telegraph, Nottingham Forest will soon report to PSV for Johan Bakayoko. The Premier League club are prepared to break their own transfer record for the Belgian now Anthony Elanga looks poised to join Newcastle United.
As per Fabrizio Romano among others, Forest and Newcastle have reached an agreement on Elanga’s move. Forest will receive an amount of around 64 million euros for this transfer. Ramon Sosa will also leave for Palmeiras, which means that coach Nuno Espirito Santo will be without two wingers. Bakayoko is now in the picture to fill that gap.
The Telegraph reports that PSV are asking for almost 35 million euros for Bakayoko. That would be a transfer record for Nottingham Forest, but the club are prepared to break that record by selling Elanga. The intention is that the Premier League club will knock on PSV’s door as soon as Elanga’s transfer is official. The Swede is currently undergoing a medical at Newcastle.
Continuing on, the Telegraph claims that several clubs from Europe are eyeing Bakayoko, but Nottingham wants to accelerate immediately if the Swede is sold. The Belgian can leave PSV for a good amount now that he is no longer certain of his starting place due to the solid form of Ivan Perisic.
