That is according to Football Insider, who states that the Premier League side are ready to sell four players this week as they try to avoid further punishment under the Profit and Sustainability Rules.

The report states that those four players are Nathan Turner, Lewis O’Brien, Emmanuel Dennis, and Joe Worrall, with the latter meaning Sheffield United and Coventry have received a boost in their pursuit of the player.

Both the Blades and the Sky Blues are preparing for the 2024/24 Championship season, with both sides looking to be among the top six.

The Yorkshire side is returning to the second tier after a dismal campaign in the Premier League, while Coventry are looking to bounce back after missing out on a top-six finish.

Nottingham Forest’s Joe Worrall seems to be a wanted man this summer, as his future looks away from the City Ground.

Sheffield United have been heavily linked with the defender for some time now, with TEAMtalk, reporting that the Blades had opened talks with Forest over a move for Worrall.

The report added that the player himself is said to be keen on the move, despite the club just being relegated to the Championship.

But as well as Sheffield United being interested, according to Alan Nixon, Coventry City are also keen on signing the central defender this summer. Unlike the Blades, however, they are looking to sign Worrall on a loan deal.

Worrall is under contract at the City Ground until the summer of 2026, but according to Football Insider, he could soon be on his way out of the club.

The report states that Worrall, along with Nathan Turner, Lewis O’Brien, and Emmanuel Dennis, are players that Forest are looking to part ways with.

The Premier League side is under pressure to ensure they record a suitable trading profit before their 2023/24 accounting period ends on June 30th. It has been stated that Forest must make £20 million in player sales before the end of the month.

Nottingham Forest are believed to want £4 million for Joe Worrall

Worrall’s exit from Nottingham Forest looks to have been on the cards for a while now, as the defender lost his place in the team last season and then spent the second half of the campaign on loan at Besiktas.

The 27-year-old played nine times for the Süper Lig outfit in all competitions, but his performances don’t seem to have done enough for them to be willing to sign him on a permanent basis.

It has been reported that with his future looking away from the City Ground and the fact that Forest need to raise money from player sales, the Premier League side are looking to get around £4 million for the defender.

Sheffield United have an advantage over Coventry City in the Joe Worrall race

It appears that Nottingham Forest are in a desperate situation where they need to raise money from player sales as quickly as possible.

That means they are looking to sell these four players for money, not on loan deals, which therefore surely means Sheffield United hold the advantage when it comes to Joe Worrall, as Coventry City have only been linked with the player in terms of a loan deal.

The Blades have their own financial issues, as takeover talks are continuing, but if they are able to get into a position where they can pay this fee, then surely they will likely win the race for the defender unless the Sky Blues change their stance.
