Manchester United captain Bruno Fernades has come under fire for his on-pitch antics while being the captain at Trafford.
Bruno Fernandes is a passionate player and is often a vocal and emotional Manchester United player.
His antics often boil over with the former Sporting Lisbon player seen to be moaning and a frustrated figure at Old Trafford.
He is arguably one of the most consistent performers for the Red Devils since he arrived in 2020 under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with the majority of supporters understanding his personality.
However, Erik ten Hag’s captain has come under fire from former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit when asked about the issues Ten Hag faces in Manchester.
Petit appeared on TalkSport speaking to Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent and was asked about his thoughts on the current situation at Manchester United.
The former French midfielder claimed that Bruno Fernandes is not a captain and he would get frustrated if he was playing with the Portuguese star.
Speaking on TalkSport, Petit said: “I think he’s a good player but I think he’s a diva. He acts like a diva sometimes, not like a captain.
“He wears the armband but if I’m honest with you, if I’m a teammate in the dressing room and you see the way he’s behaving sometimes on the pitch with his arms all the time complaining, you don’t want that from your captain.
“You don’t want that from your teammate and you don’t expect that from your leaders.”
The former Aston Villa star added that he feels another Red Devil should be wearing the armband by adding: “I think Mainoo has the potential to wear the armband but he’s too young.”
