Manchester United have reportedly been convinced by Porto teenager Rodrigo Mora ahead of a potential summer onslaught.

The fallen Premier League giants are enduring a miserable campaign, but they’re expected to revamp their squad next summer by adding young guns to their ranks. And while Erik ten Hag had brought in a band of Dutch players and ex-Ajax stars, perhaps Ruben Amorim would turn to his own compatriots as well.

In recent days, numerous reports claimed that the Red Devils have an agreement in hand for Geovany Quenda, a 17-year-old Portuguese talent who earned his senior debut with Sporting CP under the guidance of the current Man Utd boss. The devastating winger is swiftly rising to prominence this season, but many believe United are in prime position to secure his signature.

Nevertheless, Quenda isn’t the only Portuguese teenager tipped to join Amorim’s ranks. According to CaughtOffside, the Reds are also in the race for Porto’s Mora.

The 17-year-old attacking midfielder is described as a cheeky talent who isn’t afraid to receive the ball and take the initiative. Despite his tender age, his strong character has stood out in his breakthrough campaign with the club’s senior squad, as well as his impressive technical skills.

However, the source reveals that Man Utd are facing competition from Arsenal for the youngster who is valued at circa £55 million. The report suggests the Gunners’ healthier position in the table and expected Champions League squad could render them a more enticing destination compared the free-falling Red Devils.

Nevertheless, Mora could be intrigued by the opportunity to work alongside his compatriot Amorim who has reportedly been determined to sign him since his days at Sporting CP.

This season, the young midfielder has contributed with three goals and as many assists in his 14 appearances in the Portuguese top flight.
