Norwich City will be sweating on the availability of Jose Cordoba, who impressed against Leeds United before suffering a knee injury

Norwich City continued their positive momentum on Tuesday night with a 1-1 draw against promotion hopefuls Leeds United at Carrow Road.

Prior to their meeting with the Whites, the Canaries hammered Watford 4-1 before winning 3-2 at Derby County courtesy of Borja Sainz's hat-trick.

But while Johannes Hoff Thorup's side will be pleased with their three-game unbeaten streak, they will be concerned by the fitness of summer signing Jose Cordoba, who had to be replaced at half-time on Tuesday due to a knee injury.

Cordoba impressed vs Leeds

The Canaries held a 1-0 half-time lead thanks to Josh Sargent, who scored from the penalty spot after being fouled by Wales international Joe Rodon.

During the first 45 minutes, the Canaries defence was particularly impressive, as they kept an often potent Leeds attack quiet, largely thanks to the efforts of Cordoba.

As per FotMob, prior to his injury, Cordoba completed two clearances, one-headed clearance and two recoveries, while he also impressed when in possession, with a pass accuracy of 87%.

And once the Panama international had left the field of play, the Canaries looked less settled at the back, as the Whites displayed their attacking intent, although they had already struck the post through Wilfried Gnonto in the first-half.

By the hour mark, Daniel Farke's side found a way through the Canaries defence as Largie Ramazani's effort found the bottom corner past a helpless Angus Gunn.

While the Whites boast one of the most dangerous attacks in the Championship, Cordoba's first-half performance suggests that the Carrow Road outfit may have had a greater chance of maintaining their clean sheet if the 23-year-old had remained on the field of play.

Canaries must hope Cordoba isn't out for long

Cordoba showed just how good he can be with an impressive first-half display on Tuesday night, and looked to have secured his status in Hoff Thorup's team with three consecutive starts.

As reported by the Eastern Daily Press, the Panama international is set for a scan which will reveal the full extent of the knee injury he suffered.

In addition to his Leeds exploits, Cordoba also performed well during his side's recent victory over Derby, despite the fact that the Canaries conceded two goals.

According to FotMob, the 23-year-old completed the most passes out of any Rams or Canaries player last Saturday, while he also completed five clearances.

Having joined Hoff Thorup's side from Bulgarian outfit Levski Sofia during the summer transfer window, Cordoba arrived in the Championship as somewhat of an unknown quantity, and he has fast become a vital part of the Norwich team.

A clash with Hull City, who have been scoring for fun of late with 3-1 victories over Stoke City and Queens Park Rangers, either side of a 4-1 win over Cardiff City, awaits the Canaries, who will likely be without the services of Cordoba.

Hoff Thorup and co may be resigned to the fact that the former Levski Sofia man will likely be unavailable for selection against the Tigers, but will hope that he can make his return to match fitness sooner rather than later.

Tuesday night's evidence shows that the Canaries boast a better defence with Cordoba in their side, and that he will be missed should he suffer a long-term absence.
