Newcastle United welcome West Ham to the North East this evening looking to continue their impressive recent form.
The Magpies are searching for a fourth consecutive win in all competitions after impressive wins against Chelsea, Arsenal and Nottingham Forest before the international break. A win at St James’ Park would lift Eddie Howe’s side into the Premier League’s top six.
West Ham arrive in unconvincing form under new head coach Julen Lopetegui. Currently 14th in the Premier League table, the East Londoners have won just three of their 11 league games this season. The Hammers have also won only one of their last eight Premier League games away from home, with their last two trips ending in heavy defeats at Tottenham and Nottingham Forest.
Newcastle will be without Dan Burn, who misses the clash through suspension. The centre-back picked up his fifth booking of the Premier League campaign before the international break and will serve a one-game ban. Lloyd Kelly is set to deputise in central defence with Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles still out.
There’s better news on Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson who are each nearing returns to first-team action. The former faces a fight to regain his place, however, with Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall earning England debuts this month after impressing in the full-back roles.
Newcastle predicted XI: Pope; Livramento, Schar, Kelly, Hall; Guimaraes, Joelinton, Longstaff; Gordon, Barnes, Isak.
Newcastle host West Ham in the Premier League on Monday 25th November 2024. Kick-off at St James’ Park is 8pm GMT.
Newcastle vs West Ham will be shown live to a UK audience on Sky Sports Premier League and Main Event.
