Newcastle United need to take full advantage of this disharmony at Manchester United

As a little bit of a follow up to my article on Sunday (‘Time for Callum Wilson to be ‘Castaway’), I was disappointed to later read that the striker had been withdrawn from the squad to face Brighton because he “felt unwell and was suffering from a little tightness.”

It was our third last game of the season and Newcastle United are in a three way fight for a guaranteed European place.

Alexander Isak was also feeling unwell but started the game, before being substituted 20 minutes or so from full-time.

I hope both Callum and Alex are both feeling better and raring to go against Manchester United on Wednesday evening.

We huffed and puffed in our draw with Brighton but Eddie Howe will have had four days to recharge the players batteries for the trip to Old Trafford.

The Salford club may have their talisman Bruno Fernandes back but Newcastle United have better players than them in our preferred first eleven.

I’m backing our own Bruno Guimaraes to orchestrate our midfield and stifle the threat that Fernandes may bring to the table for the Reds.

As I’ve mentioned previously, Man Utd are very lucky to be in the position they are in the EPL (8th).

Newcastle want to be peppering calamity keeper Onana whenever possible. When we get in behind and carve out chances we need to be ruthless.

If we go a goal up, this lot are well capable of folding like a pack of cards. A cagey Arsenal side only scored one goal against the Red Devils at the weekend but it was enough for them to take home the three points.

It’s not a secret that there is serious discord / disharmony in the Manchester United camp and that certain players are at loggerheads with the manager Erik ten Hag.

I believe Joelinton will start the game and what a boost that is going to give the Magpies.

We are well capable and every man in black and white stripes is going to have to be prepared to give their all because it’s not going to be easy.

Here’s hoping for as clean a bill of health as is possible.
