In a recent report, TuttoJuve claimed that Newcastle United are locked in a three-way battle for Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani. It has been stated that the Magpies would have to compete with Chelsea and Manchester United in pursuit of the France international this summer.

Kolo Muani’s Loan Spell At Juventus Last Season

Kolo Muani had a decent loan spell at Juventus last season when he produced a handful of impressive displays as the focal point of their attack. The French striker banged in ten goals and grabbed two assists in 20 matches for the Turin outfit in the previous campaign across all fronts.

The 26-year-old led the line well as he averaged 1.94 shots per 90 minutes in Serie A football and kept 52% of his attempts on target. However, Kolo Muani has to find a way to improve his ball distribution in the final third based on his pass completion rate of 69.9% in league football (stats via fbref.com).

His current deal at his parent club Paris Saint-Germain will run out in the summer of 2028. Thus, Newcastle would have to make a big offer if they want to win the race for his services this off-season.

Will Kolo Muani Be A Good Option For Newcastle United Boss Eddie Howe?

Kolo Muani can find some space for himself to get some strikes in at goal and is a streaky goal-getter up top. He can create the odd chance for his teammates to find the back of the net and is clever with his movements in and around the opponent’s penalty area.

However, the French talent needs to find a way to improve his link-up play in the final third. Furthermore, there are some concerns over whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if the Magpies manage to sign him this summer.

Kolo Muani would add more firepower to Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe’s attack. He has what it takes to serve as a decent back-up to Alexander Isak at the Tyneside club in the coming seasons.

At 26, Kolo Muani’s peak years are ahead of him which makes him a good choice for the Magpies to consider in this summer transfer period.
