In a close game between two bottom-half sides on Wednesday night, Manchester United had a rollercoaster first 45 minutes.
Just four minutes into the game at Old Trafford, Jaden Philogene-Bidace gave Ipswich Town the lead, but United responded with goals in the 22nd and 26th minutes to take the lead.
That lead came under threat when Patrick Dorgu was dismissed on VAR review for a foul on former Arsenal academy product Omari Hutchinson, and Philogene-Bidace then scored an equaliser just before the half-time break.

United rallied and retook the lead just after half-time, and they ended up securing the three points, but Dorgu’s red card will have longer-term consequences.
The Premier League have confirmed that the straight red was shown for “serious foul play”, with United writing that Dorgu is therefore facing a three-match ban in domestic competition.
United face Fulham on Sunday, and their next two domestic fixtures are against Arsenal on March 9th and Leicester City on March 16th.

Ruben Amorim’s side also have a Europa League tie against Real Sociedad in between those matches, but Dorgu will be available to feature in European competition.
“He will play in the Europa League, for sure, as we have to make rotation,” Amorim confirmed afterwards. “It’s the life of a player, you make a mistake but you have to go again and play the next game.”
Noussair Mazraoui came on when United went down to 10 men, and he’ll likely play from the start against Fulham, Arsenal, and Leicester.
