This summer, the 19-year-old attacking midfielder Saïmon Bouabré stunned the football world by leaving AS Monaco to join Neom SC in Saudi Arabia. While on duty with the French U21 national team, the player explained his decision to RMC.

"It was mainly playing time I was looking for at that moment, in another club. And Christophe Galtier was the one who guaranteed me the most minutes. The discussions with him went very well. It was smooth and convincing. At Monaco, I didn’t get a lot of playing time, so that’s what I was searching for. And Christophe Galtier came to me and said, 'You’re going to play.' That’s what I wanted. Honestly, the league itself didn’t matter that much, without exaggerating, but really, it didn’t matter..." said the young talent of Ivorian descent.
