Manchester City supporters have been issued with an eight-word update from Nathan Ake following his injury setback against Fulham on Saturday afternoon.

The Dutch international was withdrawn inside the opening 20 minutes of Manchester City’s statement win at Craven Cottage, with club captain Kyle Walker coming on in his place and reshuffling the defensive unit at the weekend.

Thankfully for all involved, Manchester City were able to build on a 0-1 lead that had already been established by that point in the game and cruised to 0-4 victors with additional goals from Phil Foden and Julian Alvarez, whilst Josko Gvardiol made it a brace for himself.

Speaking after the game, Ake was able to offer some level of update for supporters, whilst Pep Guardiola remained relatively tight-lipped on the matter, but could provide an update during his pre-Tottenham press conference on Monday afternoon.

Writing in a recent social media post, Nathan Ake issued a short but insightful update on his Manchester City injury setback ahead of the final two Premier League matches of the ongoing season.

“Top performance from the team,” said Ake in reference to Manchester City’s 0-4 win against Fulham on Saturday afternoon, moving them to within just two wins of a fourth successive Premier League title.

Continuing on his injury setback, Nathan Ake said, “Thank you for the wishes, I’ll be good”.

Manchester City travel to face Tottenham in north London on Tuesday night, in what will be their penultimate game of the Premier League season, and one of three ‘finals’ for the club in pursuit of two trophies this season.

The Premier League campaign will come to a close for Pep Guardiola’s side next Sunday afternoon with a home clash against West Ham United, whilst the domestic calendar finalises against Manchester United in the FA Cup final.

In more positive news on the fitness front, Jack Grealish returned to full first-team training on Sunday afternoon alongside the rest of Guardiola’s squad that did not start against Fulham, following a bout of illness.
