Napoli are presently in the midst of a Serie A title race but they have been quite attentive towards the transfer market as well.
With a Champions League berth for next season all but confirmed, Antonio Conte has made it clear that he needs two players who are good enough to be starters per position. Given that the club have lost Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the last few months, the fact that they need firepower in attack is undeniable. Romelu Lukaku has done well but Napoli have shortlisted two strikers who can rotate with him for next season. Rasmus Hojlund broke through in Italy for Atalanta before earning a €75m move to Manchester United in 2023. In England, he has found life quite difficult, scoring 24 times in 82 games for the Red Devils. This season he has received a lot of criticism, given the fact he has scored just 3 times in the Premier League. Napoli however still believe in his talent and it is believed that United will ask for around €60m for the Danish striker. Napoli believe that convincing Hojlund for the move will not be difficult and he is open to a move back to Italy. Initial contacts have been positive, as per La Gazzetta dello Sport‘s Vincenzo D’Angelo. The other option they are considering is that of Lorenzo Lucca. The 24-year-old is having a great season at Udinese and has already netted 10 times in the league this campaign. This deal, if pursued, is expected to cost.
