MVP FOR APRIL: RAFAEL LEÃO | OneFootball

Rafael Leão, following the votes cast by Rossoneri fans on acmilan.com, was elected MVP for the month of April. From the Maradona brace to the assist at the end of the match at the Olimpico, the Portugal international took part - albeit with varying minutes - in all seven Rossoneri fixtures in the period just ended, a month during which AC Milan recorded zero defeats and gave several satisfactions to their supporters.

Between Serie A and the Champions League, Rafa collected 4 goals and dished out 2 assists, starting with the two masterful goals against Napoli's Maradona that opened the Rossoneri's April and earned him the man-of-the-match award. In closing, another brace and another personal award: two goals scored in the 2-0 win at Lecce and another man-of-the-match award, before the assist to Saelemaekers in the late stages of the game at Roma.

Numbers don't tell the whole story, though, because his runs and imagination were AC Milan's biggest weapon in the most important double-header this month: the one against Spalletti's Azzurri in the Champions League: passing to inspire Bennacer's winner in the first leg, the penalty earned and dream assist for Giroud in the second. When the importance of matches increases, Rafa does not hide.

To reach the top step of the podium, Leão overcame some very high-level competition among his teammates: from Mike Maignan, star man in several matches and - like the number 17 - winner of two MOTM awards in the past month, to Brahim Díaz and Alexis Saelemaekers. Bravo Rafa!
