Romano has outlined that there's no guarantee the Egyptian stays at Liverpool beyond this season but expects talks to take place regarding a renewal.

"I think there is still a very concrete chance to see Mo Salah leaving, but what I’m sure about is that there will be conversations.

"There will be negotiations with Liverpool so it’s not over between Liverpool and Salah. The situation is still very much open. So again, there is a possibility to leave for sure, but it’s not guaranteed.

"There will be negotiations. There will be conversations. Mo Salah is open to negotiating and discussing with Liverpool. It’s about the length of the contract and the project they have at the club.

"Obviously, money is also an important factor for the final big contract in the career as a football player for Mo Salah," Romano said on The Debrief Podcast.

Mo Salah against United

If Salah isn't tied down by January, then the 32 year-old will be able to talk to foreign clubs regarding a free transfer in the summer of 2025, mounting more pressure Chief Executive Michael Edwards and Sporting Director Richard Hughes.

Liverpool's talisman has attracted huge interest from the Saudi Pro League in recent seasons but remaining in Europe looks more likely with Salah believed to have a couple of more years left at the top level.

SALAH CONTINUES TO SHINE AT LIVERPOOL

Liverpool have began the new Premier League season under Arne Slot in perfect fashion. The Reds have won their opening three league games, without conceding a goal, and it isn't a huge shock that Salah has spearheaded Liverpool's fine start to the season.

The Egyptian has continued to show his worth after netting in all three of Liverpool's opening three fixtures whilst registering three assists too.

Salah is showing no signs of slowing down fitness wise, and in turn his productivity is still has impressive as ever. The decision the club have is whether these levels will remain as the winger enters his mid 30s, but the Egypt international can't do much more in showing that there won't be a decline anytime soon.

Salah will be hoping to continue this fine form as Liverpool prepare to welcome Nottingham Forest to Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
