Miron Muslic and his Plymouth squad had been scheduled to fly up to Newcastle on Friday, ahead of Saturday’s game at Sunderland.
However, due to the forecasted Storm Eowyn very strong winds, their flight to Newcastle was brought forward to Thursday.
Newcastle United helping Plymouth out, by letting them use their training facilities in the build-up to the away Championship match against Sunderland.
Miron Muslic explaining that he was able to arrange the use of the facilities at Newcastle’s Darsley Park, with the help of Sporting Director Paul Mitchell, who he knows.
Reflecting on the 2-2 draw which was achieved with a 90th minute, rock bottom of the league Plymouth Argyle manager Miron Muslic was quick to thank Newcastle United:
“We arrived here having the opportunity to use the training facilities of Newcastle United.
“Having the doors open there because of my relationship with Paul Mitchell, the [Newcastle United] Sporting Director.
“They gave us all the facilities we needed, so we actually used this storm to work on the pitch.
“I think it was also good we stayed together for two days, so we could use it for some tactical sessions, some video analysis as well as to get closer and to know each other.
“So in the end, the possible disadvantage was actually an advantage.
