Milan Futuro's season is in full swing; we've already been having fun and there have been a few important talking points. Coach Bonera's boys have played four competitive matches so far, each of them historic in their own way. They have been stern tests in our entry into this level of football, a first for the Club, The project was officially presented early in the summer and, following the formalities with the Club and their first sessions at Milanello, the team kicked things off at home to Lecco in the Coppa Italia Serie C

An experienced Lecco side, who had recently just dropped down from Serie B, appeared to be a tough hurdle to overcome but the Rossoneri delivered a surprise. The 3-0 win, with goals from Liberali (born in 2003) and Jiménez (x2), was thoroughly deserved given the team's apparent conviction and fearless approach. And then, it happened again. The Rossoneri recorded a historic second victory, overcoming Novara at home by two goals to one - Camarda brace - to book their ticket to the third round of the cup.

The three aforementioned goalscorers are but three of the various elements of this young squad, which we have enjoyed so far and are continuing to impress. There is captain Zeroli, Nava in goal, Bartesaghi, Cuenca, Sia, and many more. The team possesses a solid core and, in the midst of all this, there have been moves in the transfer market to reinforce the squad at Bonera's disposal. Minotti, Fall, Sandri and Longo have provided experience, but more youth has been added to the side as well: from Duțu to Mastrantonio, as well as Hodzic, Turco, Zukić and the latest arrival, Vos. The Dutchman made his debut in our last game and played well as he helped to secure our first point in the league.

It ended 1-1 against Carpi at the Stadio Speroni in Busto Arsizio. Camarda's goal from the penalty spot in our first home game was preceded by a narrow 1-0 victory away at Virtus Entella. September will be an intense month, with the Rossoneri having five games in 16 days following the international window. The break was a chance for the team to work and improve even more. Up next is Milan Futuro v Ascoli, which will kick off a tough run with two midweek fixtures. Onwards with no fear, the spirit is the right one.
