Sunday’s reports claim that Milan have reached a decision to send former England international Tammy Abraham back to his parent club Roma once his loan deal expires at the end of the 2024-25 season.

Abraham has been on loan with Milan since the end of the summer transfer window. He joined the Rossoneri at the same time as Alexis Saelemaekers’s loan deal in the opposite direction, although the two moves were technically separate transactions with no buy options included for either player.

Despite recent reports that there was an ‘informal agreement’ between Milan and Roma regarding the permanent signings of Abraham and Saelemaekers, reports from Corriere dello Sport claim that the Rossoneri have decided to move forwards in a different direction this summer.

Sunday’s report indicates that Abraham will return to the Stadio Olimpico at the end of the 2024-25 campaign, and that Roma will look for permanent buyers elsewhere.

The former Chelsea striker has come up with 10 goals and seven assists across all competitions this season, but has never been able to nail down a position as a guaranteed starter, with initial competition from Alvaro Morata and then from Santiago Gimenez and Luka Jovic later in the season.

Now, Milan look set for another attacking overhaul in the summer transfer window, with January recruit Gimenez the only centre-forward guaranteed to keep his place in the squad for 2025-26.

Jovic is also out of contract in June and is unlikely to be offered an extension.

Recent reports claim that Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce are among the sides interested in a deal for the 27-year-old Abraham, while Corriere dello Sport claims that fellow Istanbul outfit Besiktas are also keen.
