Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has stirred the pot with his latest comments about the club’s transfer strategy.
When asked about the growing rumours linking Arsenal with Real Madrid’s Rodrygo Goes, Arteta chose his words carefully.
He did not confirm or deny the interest but made it clear that if Arsenal want to start winning big trophies, they must act boldly in the transfer market.
“If you want to win titles, you have to be the best in the market,” Arteta said during a press conference. “The teams that win have the best players,” he added.
His words suggest Arsenal are prepared to go big this summer after finishing the season without any silverware. Arteta added that being linked with top players is a sign of progress.
“It’s a matter of pride. It shows we’ve brought the club to a level where people expect us to challenge for trophies.”

Rodrygo is currently one of the most talked-about players in Europe. Real Madrid have reportedly placed a €120 million price tag on the Brazilian winger, making him a target for several top Premier League sides.
Arsenal are believed to be one of the clubs monitoring the situation, but they are not alone. Chelsea and Manchester City are also keeping a close eye on the 24-year-old.
Recent reports from England suggest that Chelsea have already made contact with Rodrygo’s camp. The London club are ready to offer around €80 million and view him as a key piece of their future attack.
With no official confirmation and Arteta not shutting down the speculation, there is a real chance that Rodrygo could be on the move this summer.
The transfer window is still a few weeks away, but the race for Rodrygo is already heating up. Arsenal fans will be watching closely to see if their club makes a bold statement in the coming months.
