According to Fabrice Hawkins, Bayern Munich attacking midfielder Michael Olise (22) is set to be handed his first senior call-up to the France national team. Didier Deschamps is seriously thinking about handing the former Crystal Palace player his first senior cap for Les Bleus after impressing at the Olympics.
The France U21 international was instrumental at France’s home Olympic Games. Although Les Bleuets were unable to secure gold after losing to Spain, Olise produced several match-winning performances throughout the competition. Representing his country at the games, the 22-year-old scored 2 goals and registered 5 assists.
Deschamps is set to announce his latest Les Bleus squad on the 29th of August. After his summer move to Bayern Munich and an impressive tournament at the Olympics, Olise is one of the leading candidates to be included in the France boss’ squad. Les Bleus will play Italy and Belgium during the upcoming international break.
