Bryan Mbeumo, scorer of Brentford’s first goal and creator of the second in the 2-1 victory over Bournemouth, hailed the Bees’ fighting spirit after Saturday’s late win on the south coast.

The Cameroon international’s opener was cancelled out almost immediately by Dominic Solanke, but Yoane Wissa rifled beyond Mark Travers deep into stoppage time as Thomas Frank’s side rounded off their away campaign with a win.

“I feel very good and very happy with the win today,” said Mbeumo.

“It was a tough game against a really good team; we fought until the last minute to get the winning goal.

Asked about the link-up with Wissa for his 50th Brentford goal, Mbeumo said: “It’s an unbelievable touch from Wiss. When the ball comes over from the keeper it’s always hard, but it was the perfect touch.

“There’s a lot of work on the pitch but also off it; we have a really good relationship and we are very good friends.

"Training the combinations is really important.”
